The Importance Of Proper Posture

In school many of us heard the phrase

"Stand Up Straight"
New Technology

There are many psychological reasons why having a posture is important, we can instantly identify laziness when looking at another member of staff slouched across their desk, and quickly associate confidence with an upright posture.

Since the emergence of new technology, many of us spend hours each day scrolling through Facebook or Instagram for hours on end, and with the many of us, now having to work from home due to the coronavirus pandemic, its even more important that we take care of our posture to prevent muscular imbalances.

How I discovered what muscular imbalances are and how to prevent them!

After suffering from a number of headaches, I noticed that my neck was very stiff, and my back was painful, I knew it wasn’t a virus or a flu, as I was not coughing or feeling feverish.

I didn’t for associate the back and neck pain with the headaches, but it became very evident by me increasing the use of my phone and laptop, the headaches were often and worse, whilst on the weekends they would start to get better, when I was busy and being active and not having the chance to use my phone.

I visited a chiropractor for the pain who advised me that there were imbalances in my muscles, which meant that certain parts of my neck were tight whilst others were looser. The trip did help, but was expensive, and I didn’t want to have to visit him every week as the effects largely wore off after a few days and I was back in pain.

The Good News

The good news for us is that be corrected and even prevented. I found a company, whilst looking for a product which could help with my pain issues, I found; Sports Laboratory, who specialise in equipment to aid with improving and maintaining great posture.

My Findings
  • Starting to experience less back pain (especially lower back pain).
  • I now notice when I have assumed poor posture, as my muscle memory has gotten used to my posture when I wear the posture corrector.
  • You don't need to wear it all the time, only a couple of hours a day.
  • It's quite discreet, I can wear it underneath my shirt without getting any funny looks.
  • My muscles feel more free and flexible, helped me progress my yoga poses.

All in all, I would defiantly recommend the Sports Laboratory Posture Corrector PRO+ to anyone who may suffer from back pain and a improper posture! The customer service is great too! Well done!
